SOME SUGGESTIONS
FOR POLICY CHANGE
As much as I really don't want to see a
Home Depot in my back yard, I would
gladly trade it for:
• The
huge condo complex that would be built
there;
• Eight-
to 10-foot building setbacks on
property;
• A
moratorium on variances so that
contractors can't build on any size
property in any location;
• A
mandatory $25,000 fine and one year jail
sentence for anyone or company owner and
manager that allows the cutting down and
removal of a tree on weekends or after 5
p.m., anytime when the city cannot
intervene.
As many are, I am disgusted and appalled
that the contractors that come in here
are allowed to circumvent the rules at
will, sometimes with the blessing of the
city commission -- all for the sake of
the ``almighty buck.''
Newsflash! You are destroying the very
thing you came here for!
